There are about 30 days in a month, if you have 60 pairs of shoes you can go the entire time and not wear the same ones twice and change them twice a day. Who really does this?
Shoe purchasing is one of a woman's favorite sports. Collecting them is an obsession and even the ladies who lack any hoarding tendencies, like me, tend to hang on to them but, I've decided that enough is enough.
First, I will get rid of any pair of shoes that hurt my feet just to look at them.
Second, I will follow the clothing rule of if I haven't worn them in six months.....out they go.
Third, I will get rid of any hardly worn shoes that I deem as a "What was I thinking?" purchase.
Fourth, I will evaluate if I really need four pairs of snow boots since I live in North Carolina.
Fifth, I will retire athletic shoes that have served me well.
The way I figure it is that the average woman only needs about twenty pairs of shoes.
Five dressy for church and special occasions
Five casual pairs of flats
Five pairs of sneakers (two for working out, two for everyday and one for getting dirty)
Three pairs of boots (two for looks and one for bad weather)
Two pairs of something fun (this could be the splurged on Jimmy Choos or whatever is trending for the season)
This may sound awful and boring but, I didn't say how often you could replace them.
